Congo Gorilla Forest was constructed as a groundbreaking, participatory exhibit, connecting subject work to the work happening at the Bronx Zoo. The exhibit is residence to two troops of gorillas and spans 6.5 acres, incorporating almost four hundred species of live crops that vary from 50 foot tall trees to delicate orchids. Gorillas are among our closest relations in the wild.
The Spiny Forest exhibit is house to ring-tailed and collared brown lemurs, in addition to radiated tortoises and a wide range of bird species including red fodys. The animals co-exist here just as they might within the wild. The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only.
